Report Misconduct

As a continuing and professional education unit of the Cockrell School of Engineering at UT Austin, we are committed to upholding and abiding by the values and policies that ensure the safety and well-being of our learners, instructors, and staff.

Part of this commitment entails making our community aware of the expectations and resources available as it pertains to incidents involving prohibited conduct covered by Title IX, Texas Senate Bill 212, and University policy 3-3031.  The University strongly encourages the prompt reporting of such incidents, and provides a variety of options to submit a report.

Why Report?

  • The incident has negatively affected your class experience.
  • You have concerns about your safety or the safety of the community.
  • You need someone to confide in or want to seek assistance and support, but you are not seeking action or do not want to name the Respondent.
  • You want the University to pursue disciplinary action against the Respondent.
  • You want a No Contact Directive to be put in place between you and the Respondent.
  • You would like to be provided with resources.

What is Texas Senate Bill 212?

Beginning January 1, 2020, Texas Senate Bill 212 legally requires that all Mandatory Reporters of Texas universities, which includes all University employees and PETEX instructors, report any information to the Title IX Office regarding sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking that is disclosed to them.  For more information on SB212, please visit the following website:

What is University Policy 3-3031?

It is the policy of The University of Texas at Austin to provide an educational and working environment for its students, faculty, and staff that is free from sex discrimination (including discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression), sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, interpersonal violence (including domestic violence and dating violence), and stalking. In accordance with federal and state law, the University prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex (including gender) and prohibits sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, interpersonal violence, and stalking.
