Edgardo Irizarry

Edgardo Irizarry is the assistant director of Continuing Engineering Education for Texas Engineering Executive Education (TxEEE). In this strategic and operational position, Irizarry oversees efforts to deploy innovative, scalable, and viable training and educational programs that address current and emerging engineering and engineering-related workforce development needs.

Through his leadership in the continuing and executive education space in higher education, Irizarry has led efforts to develop and deliver a broad portfolio of programs for workforce development and career advancement. These include executive master’s programs, engineering professional development courses, and power, energy, and technology initiatives. These have been offered through a variety of teaching modalities while collaborating with world-class faculty and experts to create courses that provide practical skills and competencies for professionals across industries within national and international markets.

Irizarry has also collaborated in the teaching, learning and adoption of human-centered design processes and strategies for organizational transformation by innovation teams in Fortune 500 companies across several industries, school districts and higher education organizations.

Before working at The University of Texas at Austin, Irizarry worked as a director of innovation and used his experience in virtual learning environments to design and lead entrepreneurial and leadership development programs. Additionally, he has advised and collaborated on developing and implementing corporate strategies and establishing partnerships with school districts, local chambers of commerce and state-wide government agencies.

Irizarry is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Policy and Planning at UT Austin. He earned a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He holds a professional Executive Coaching certificate accredited by the International Coaching Federation and is a member of the International Leadership Association.
