Maria Arrellaga

Maria McGivney Arrellaga is the director of Marketing and Communications for Texas Engineering Executive Education (TxEEE). In this role, Arrellaga oversees the TxEEE marketing team responsible for all marketing and communications functions for TxEEE’s academic degrees, non-credit short courses and other offerings. The team is focused on quality lead generation and audience engagement, utilizing various digital strategies, marketing campaigns, authentic communication and tried and true community building.

In her role as marketing director, Arrellaga also collaborates closely with TxEEE affiliate organizations, the Petroleum Extension (PETEX) and the Health and Safety Training Center (HSTC).

Previous to her position with TxEEE, Arrellaga worked in The University of Texas President’s Office for five years, holding two different positions. As executive director for Presidential Initiatives, she managed two executive boards focused on guiding university strategy in business development and international engagement. Arrellaga also served as chief communications officer for the university, responsible for the overall direction and implementation of strategic communications, media relations and digital strategy.

Arrellaga also served in three other communications roles at UT, as communications director in the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President, assistant dean for communications in the UT School of Law and communications director for the Cockrell School of Engineering.

Before joining UT in 2009, Arrellaga owned her own marketing communications company for over 20 years, serving various clients in industries including health care, manufacturing, software and hardware technology and media.
