Advanced Wastewater Pollution Control

The objective of this course is to review the fundamentals and present new advances in biological wastewater treatment. Emphasis will be placed on the application of theoretical principles to the design and operation of waste treatment facilities. The best practicable and the best available technologies are identified in addressing the goals of the Clean Water Act.

This five-day seminar will use lectures and problem-solving sessions. Emphasis will be on applications of the principles of treatment for municipal and industrial wastewaters. Laboratory procedures for developing biological treatment design data will be presented. Design examples for wastewater treatment alternatives are developed. Limited enrollment will ensure participants adequate opportunity to discuss individual problems of their interest with the program faculty.
