Kenneth H. Stokoe II

Dr. Stokoe holds the Jennie C and Milton T. Chair in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He has been working in the areas of field seismic measurements, dynamic laboratory measurements, and dynamic soil-structure interaction for more than 40 years. He has been instrumental in developing field methods and laboratory methods for measurements of the linear and nonlinear dynamic properties of soil and rock. Most recently, he employed crosshole seismic testing using compression and shear waves to investigate changes created by shallow ground improvements that were intended to mitigate liquefaction consequences associated with residential structures in New Zealand.
